Concerts – 2026 January

Caught a rock show at Medford’s best sandwich shop/venue Deep Cuts, then Day 1 of the 2026 installment of Something in the Way Festival at Roadrunner.  While running errands around Medford, stopped into Deeps Cuts for a sandwich. Got the I.C.P., insane chicken pesto, whoop whoop, with a side of potato salad and a “Clippership”

Concerts – 2025 September

Low-key month, attending only two concerts. A phenomenal performance from Russian Circles and Blackwater Holylight. Then, a small party in the back room of a brewery.  The first of two concerts reunited me with the fellas in Russian Circles, though I saw Brian while he was in town with Sumac last month, it was nice

Concerts – 2025 August

A jam-packed month filled with festivals, including both Somergloom and RPM, and a few special performances. Starting the month with catching one of the three days of Somergloom, Greater Boston’s annual doom and gloom festival. The last day of the festival was held at the Crystal Ballroom in Somerville, Massachusetts (as the day prior), and

Concerts – 2025 July

A stomping hardcore/death metal gig around home then hit the road with Pelican once again for a 10-day loop around the Midwest, Northeast, and Canada. It’s been a little while since I found myself at Hardcore Stadium, the infamous Elk’s Lodge in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Gatekeeper Jam 24 would feature a tag-team of death metal crushers

Concerts – 2025 June

Slower-than-normal month, but as always, the shows were of the highest caliber. Caught up with old friends when The Atlas Moth swung through. A powerhouse of a grindy hardcore gig with riffs chugging and bodies flying off the stage. The month ended with another party at Widowmaker Brewing featuring some of the region’s finest. Kicking

Concerts – 2025 May

The month packed quite a punch with a few special performances, sold-out venues, and legendary bands. Starting the month, Sparta performed ‘Porcelain’ in full, their second album released in 2004 on Geffen Records, at Taffeta Music Hall in Lowell, Massachusetts. Joining them that night, Junius performed a phenomenal set with what I want to say

Concerts – 2025 April

After taking the first couple of weeks off from shows to get back used to real life after touring for most of March with Pelican, the first few shows back at it feel like a haze. To celebrate the 4/20 holiday in style, Widowmaker Brewing once again hosted Hopsmokerfest and the 3-day lineup was stacked.

Tour: PELICAN – Flickering Resonance (2025)

Twenty seven concerts spanning five weeks of touring North America with the legendary riff lords, Pelican, as they support their seventh full-length album, ‘Flickering Resonance.’ The legendary riff lords have released their seventh full-length album, ‘Flickering Resonance,’  courtesy of Run for Cover Records on May 16th, 2025. To support the record, Pelican accepted an invitation

Concerts – 2025 March

Most rad month of concerts ever! Spent most of the month accompanying Pelican while touring with Russian Circles throughout the Midwest and West Coast. Upon arriving back home to Boston, I went right back out for two more days for Cave In and Glacier as they played around New England. Legendary riff lords, Pelican are

Concerts – 2025 February

Another light month as I prepare for a busy spring. I’m not sure why I did not attend more shows this month; perhaps it was just a mixture of timing and circumstance. These few concerts still packed a punch! Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats would perform their theatrical new release, ‘Nell’ Ora Blu’, in its

Concerts – 2025 January

Only caught a few concerts to start the year and none were at a typical venue; two at a brewery and the third at a museum. The theme for the month was quality and not quantity. The year kicked off at Widowmaker Brewing in Braintree, Massachusetts for two nights off riffs for the Hopsmokerfest Invitational,
