Bone Up Brewing: Made from Ingredients

In scenic Everett, Massachusetts, you could have found a rockin’ brewery, Bone Up Brewing Company, operated by a husband and wife duo since 2016. While I fell in love with their beer (Wasted Life), little did I know that I would end up taking photographs of and for the brewery almost from the very beginning.

You can hunt for hippos in the main taproom where the walls are covered with skull-related art and rock’n’roll is usually playing, catch a breeze while sitting in the beer garden, or hang out in the atrium and enjoy one of the two murals and the Images from the Pit exhibit. Channel your inner artist with the monthly coloring contest and earn your place on the Wall of Adequacy.

The cozy Belgian inspired brewery features four flagship brews, Extra Naked (Table Beer), Key Lime (White Ale), Wasted Life (India Pale Ale), and Shut Up Kelly! (Robust Porter). The Boston area’s smallest brewery by production size, a 3.5 barrel system, slung an array of styles including saisons, stouts, grisettes, pale ales, and tripels. Seasonal favorites like the winter warmer El Pulpo (Chocolate Orange Imperial Stout) and springtime vibe starter Henrietta (Hibiscus Farmhouse Ale) are always appreciated.  They even boasted both a barrel aging and mixed-fermentation program.

Photographs taken feature a lot of beer, the staff, anniversary parties, beer, Liz & Jared, merch, award ceremonies, Horatio, the friends, and did I mention beer?  I started out as a regular in 2016, became a bartender in 2018, handled the band collaborations, talent buying, and marketplace events in 2022, and went down with the ship at the very end of 2023.
