Definitely a sonically powerful month with large-sounding bands in small rooms – which is the best way to go. It’s always nice to be in rooms surrounded by friends.
Upon returning from a European run with Slow Crush, doom-pop outfit SOM would kick off a short northeast headline run with heavy soundscape architects Hiroe. Girih and Bedroom Eyes would support the two bands for the Medford, Massachusetts date at Deep Cuts.
Caspian made an intimate club appearance at a sold-out Sonia in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as they prepared to head to Australia for three dates. Setlist included “ASA,” “Division Blues,” “Arcs of Command,” “Malacoda,” they debuted a [untitled] new song, and closed with “Castles High, Marble Bright.” The long-running post-whatever collective invited singer and multi-instrumentalist Aisha Burns to open the night.
