Low-key month, attending only two concerts. A phenomenal performance from Russian Circles and Blackwater Holylight. Then, a small party in the back room of a brewery.
The first of two concerts reunited me with the fellas in Russian Circles, though I saw Brian while he was in town with Sumac last month, it was nice to see the whole clan again. Blackwater Holylight would join the instrumental trio as they performed at Royale in Boston, Massachusetts.
Faces Brewing, the former bank-turned-restaurant in Malden, Massachusetts, throws concerts in its backroom. Back in 1863, the bank, the First National Bank of Malden, made history as the first bank to be robbed that involved a murder. Black metal demons Stryga, sludgey-death brewers Ingrate, and The Outlourdes arose from the bogs and mires to perform.
