Another light month as I prepare for a busy spring. I’m not sure why I did not attend more shows this month; perhaps it was just a mixture of timing and circumstance. These few concerts still packed a punch!
Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats would perform their theatrical new release, ‘Nell’ Ora Blu’, in its entirety at the Somerville Theatre. The concept album was inspired by Italian noir murder mystery and horror films from the 1970s.
Doomgaze collective SOM would kick off their North American tour with Earthside at the Middle East Upstairs. It’s been three years since the release of SOM’s sophomore album ‘The Shape of Everything’ (2022 – Pelagic Records) and over a year following the release of their Depeche Mode covers EP ‘Faith (2023 – Sonic Ritual Recordings). Album number three, ‘Let The Light’, will be available come March.
Worshipper celebrated their 10th anniversary as a band at Widowmaker Brewing, playing songs from all three albums. They enlisted friends in Roadsaw and Summoner to share the stage this night. The concert featured a light show courtesy of The Dregs Liquid Lightshow.
At the end of the month, I crashed Junius rehearsal at their jam room. The band is working on new music as they prepare to head to Europe for tour.
