Converge @ Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest

Quite a quiet month with no concerts until the end of the month, sometimes it’s just not in the cards to go to all the shows you want. However this concert is a bit of a doozy, it’s Decibel Magazine’s Metal & Beer Fest featuring 14 bands over 2 days and 18 breweries.

Highlights include a reunion performance from metalcore legends Deadguy – their first show in 25 years, Napalm Death performing a special set consisting of songs from Harmony Corruption and Utopia Banished, Pig Destroyer would celebrate the 20th anniversary of Prowler in the Yard by performing the album for the first time, also for the first time (in North America anyways) Converge would perform Jane Doe in entirety.

Imperial Triumphant @ Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest

Catching avart-garde black metal force Imperial Triumphant is always an experience of a ritual and I was delighted to finally catch epic doomers Crypt Sermon. Municipal Waste definitely stirred things up and got everyone excited. Midnight was frighteningly awesome. Blood Incantation one night and Immolation the other held down the death metal ends of the festival’s spectrum. Catching a performance from the resurrected doom crew Warhorse was cool and Teeth and Eternal Champion were great. I missed Die Choking, that sucked.
