Atmospheric doom/sludge metal unit LESSER GLOW released their sophomore full-length ‘Nullity’ on May 29th, 2020 via Pelagic Records.
The year before, almost to the day, I spent two days with the five piece sharing time between two recording locations, New Alliance Audio in Cambridge, MA where guitars were laid down and the historical Columbus Theatre in Providence, RI to track drums and bass. The excitement, deep thoughts, frustration, concentration, and jokes all captured as the band took take after take perfecting what would become their new album.
The album is based around the concept of human beings existing on earth as parasites. The scope widens throughout the course of the record, touching on creation myths, existence within nature, interpersonal and internal struggles, and finishing out with the mass extinction/cleansing of mankind.’
Lesser Glow also selected three other photographs I had previously taken along other adventures to be the front and back covers as well as the inside panels.
